Game Guide

Introduction
Within this guide you will learn about the system that this game works off of. All players are required to read this guide before starting to play. Once you have read this guide, you will be able to navigate to the character creation forum and to post a character application for approval.

Threading
Players are allowed to play with other players within fully developed areas, which will be labeled as their lore and maps are completed. However, for the time being -- while a bunch of development is taking place in the background -- players should consult with a staff member to run a quest for them, as we more or less know the lore anyway. And we're happy to thread with you, guys!

Us founders are dnd guys, we have a lot of experience dungeon mastering, and some of us also have millions and millions of words under our belt. The guy writing this right now spent a good amount of time as a professional writer, before enlisting in the armed services.

This is why we started the site. To give you a place where you can have epic stories told about the characters YOU create. We don't ignore our players. Everyone gets to go on epic quests. That's why we've developed such a MASSIVE world; so there's room for every kind of story to happen on the site all at once, without things seeming unrealistic or cramped.

Timestamping
All threads require a timestamp, which is an in-game date and season indicator that is to be placed somewhere in your post. You may only post new threads in the current season and year that the corresponds to the in-game month and year. Old threads that were started in old seasons may be finished.

First Dawn: January to March

Hearthseed: April to June

Last Sow: July to September

Drakenip: October to December

Year: 817, 7th Era

Thread Grading
Simply submit your threads for grading in the grading sub-forum and moderators will award you the items, perk points, and perks that you've earned.

Character Creation
All players must submit their character apps within the Character Creation Forum. Which may be located by going to the Forum page linked in the navigation bar above. All apps are subject to approval before you may play. You MUST use the character application sheet that is stickied within the Character Creation forum.

There are a lot of options here for you! We have over a dozen races developed on our site and multiple continents and cities. Mix and match as you will!

Progression
Characters are allowed to progress their character's skill levels as they play. For every one-thousand words that your write, in-character on the site, you will be granted a single skill point. Skill points can be used to upgrade your character. During creation, every level only costs one skill point, across the board.

1st Level Attribute Upgrade: 1 Skill Point

2nd Level Attribute Upgrade: 2 Skill Points

3rd Level Attribute Upgrade: 3 Skill Points

4th Level Attribute Upgrade: 4 Skill Points

5th Level Attribute Upgrade: 5 Skill Points

Perks
Outside of skills, perks are another way for characters to become even more unique. Perks are special traits/capabilities that can be rewarded to players by Dungeon-Masters upon completion of certain story arcs, or during certain story arcs. In general, no two players will ever hold the same perk.

Perks are also included within a character sheet. A player may not start with any perks, they are rewards for playing the game.

Magic System
Novice mages may cast very weak spells. A novice mage may make a candle light, or heal small scratches, but a fireball is beyond their grasp. A third level mage may cast a burst of flames or heal a moderately damaging burn, they may even cure a person of a natural sickness or remove an infection. A fourth level mage can summon bolts of electricity, large balls of fire, or even bring those on the brink of death back to life. A master level mage may bend time and space itself, create artifacts of great power, or even traverse between realities.
